My name is Brian Ward. I’m the founder & the editor of TheWorkoutDigest (formerly known as KickAssHomeGym).
You are probably like us–busy. We have so many things going on in our lives. From work to friendships to family, it’s hard to get time to yourself, and when you have time it’s hard to go to the gym. But we know how important it is to stay fit and healthy… so we create TheWorkoutDigest to solve our own problem.
TheWorkoutDigest is a resource we can use to stay fit and healthy on our own time in our own space.
As busy people, we know health is important. A great morning workout can change an entire day for the better, and at the same time getting sick can throw off a whole week. So it’s important to take care of our bodies.
But at TheWorkoutDigest, we are tired of the idea that a gym is necessary to stay fit and healthy. Our society tells us that the first step to “getting in shape” is signing up for a gym membership. While that works for many people, it’s not a required condition if you want to be healthy!
So we tested a home fitness approach to health and realized we were right. It works.
But it’s not straightforward. If you’ve never built a workout routine for yourself or used home fitness equipment, it is overwhelming. We were overwhelmed at first. So, we systematically started recording everything we tried, reviewing what worked and what didn’t.
Early on it was clear that other people could benefit from our trial and error. With no single guide for staying fit at home, we asked ourselves, why can’t we be that guide?
All it takes to stay fit at home is the right tool and the right mindset. There are so many pieces of health and exercise equipment to choose from, we thought we’d simplify the process by organizing the options into categories and methodically testing the best from each.
Having a home fitness setup has changed our lives. It’s the opposite of “out of sight, out of mind.” We can actually get fit and stay fit because our gym is our home. It’s not a revolutionary idea, but it has had a massive impact on how we feel every day. And the days are going to pass–why not make them the best days you can?
